Overview

CIDS invites you to be a part of the ‘CIDS family’. You can experience the unparalleled academic program and the unique flavor of Coorg by availing admission to one of our following academic programs:

  • BDS
  • MDS
  • Fellowship Programs and Certificate courses
Admissions to both BDS and MDS programs is based on National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by National Board of Examinations. The admission process for these programs is facilitated through the counselling process conducted by the competent authority. Fellowship programs and Certificate courses concentrate on skill enhancement in various dental specialties. The eligibility, admission process and duration for each of these courses may vary and interested applicants are requested to see the website for more details.

BDS

Duration: 4 years with 1 year Internship.

Number of seats offered: 40.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • The candidate must have completed 17 Years of age at the time of admission or shall complete this age as on the 31st December of the Admission Year.
  • He/ She should be medically fit to undergo the course and practice dentistry.
  • Have passed the Karnataka II PUC examination or an equivalent examination in CBSE, ICSE or State Boards with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages.
  • Have secured 50% Marks in these three subjects and English taken together. However, for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, the minimum marks are 40%.
  • Admission to the course shall be based on National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by National Board of Examinations. Advertisement are released in all leading dailies during the month of January / February for the application of the entrance examination. Candidates can register online (see www.nbe.edu.in). Entrance examinations are conducted during the month of April / May. Admission to this program will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The candidates will be called for registration and online counselling process by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) through the website kea.kar.nic.in and allotment of the seat is based on the merit list published by KEA.

CET students Tuition fee: 49,500 INR.
AMPCK students Tuition fee: 4,29,000 INR.
NRI/ Management students tuition fee: 6,50,000 INR.

The candidates may approach the CIDS Deanery with the admission allotment letter from the counselling authority (KEA) along with the below mentioned original documents:
  • Rank card (NEET).
  • S.S.L.C. (10th Std) marks card.
  • 12th Std. Marks Card.
  • Transfer Certificate.
  • Date of birth certificate (if it is not in the 10th Marks card).
  • Blood group report.
  • Migration Certificate by Board (Not Applicable to P.U.C. Board students).
  • OBC/Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe students should produce caste & income certificate.
  • Physical fitness certificate with marks of identification.
  • Photo copy of parent’s PAN CARD.
  • 4 Nos. of pass port size and 2 Nos. of stamp size photographs of student.
  • Passport size photographs of father & Mother (One each).
  • Copies of passport of the candidate and parents in case of NRI aspirants.
  • Employment certificate of the parent in case of NRI students.
  • Sponsorship letter from the parents sponsoring their ward in case of NRI candidates.



MDS

Duration: 3 years.

Number of seats offered: CIDS offers Post Graduate Dental program in all the nine specialties of dentistry.
  • Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics: 6 admissions/year,
  • Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics: 6 admissions/year,
  • Prosthodontics: 6 admissions/year,
  • Periodontics: 6 admissions/year,
  • Pedodontics: 3 admissions/year,
  • Oral Medicine And Radiology: 3 admissions/year,
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: 3 admissions/year,
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology: 3 admissions/year,
  • Public Health Dentistry: 3 admissions/year,
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates who have completed their Undergraduate Dental education in India from a dental college/institute duly recognized as per the provisions of the Dentists’s Act, 1948 are eligible for MDS.
  • The candidates should have completed Compulsory Rotatory Internship by 31 March 2017.
  • Candidates should have obtained permanent registration with the Dental Council of India or any of the State Dental Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of admission.
  • Candidates who did their Undergraduate Dental education outside India should have special permission from DCI.
  • All Candidates should be qualified in NEET - MDS.
  • Admission to the course shall be based on National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) - MDS conducted by National Board of Examinations. Candidates can register online (see www.nbe.edu.in) from September to October. Entrance examinations are conducted during the months November to December. Admission to this program will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The candidates will be called for registration and online counselling by KEA and final admission based on the merit list.


CET students Tuition fee: 2,25,000 INR.
AMPCK students Tuition fee: 3,52,000 INR.
NRI/ Management students: Departmentwise fee Details will be available in the KEA website.

  • Registration certificate from Dental Council of India or State Dental Councils.
  • Migration certificate from University (Other than RGUHS) where BDS course was completed.
  • Date of Birth Certificate (if it is not in the 10th Marks card).
  • Blood group report.
  • OBC/Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe students should produce caste & income certificate.
  • Physical fitness certificate with marks of identification.

Nobel Biocare Fellowship

CIDS has been in the forefront of advanced implant education since 2008 and is in partnership with the prestigious NOBEL BIOCARE company from Sweden. Through IPP we have trained more than 100 doctors and awarded them with NOBEL FELLOWSHIP.



International Admission

  • Candidates with foreign qualifications will have to obtain the ‘Equivalence Certificate’ from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi who will equate their qualifications as equivalent to the 10+2 of India. This certificate will have to be submitted at the time of admissions.
  • Valid passport and student visa for the period of study. (Original must be shown for verification. 5 duly-attested photocopies must be produced.)
  • Letter of sponsorship if applicable – Original + 5 copies
  • Residential permit from the local SP and FRO *
  • No objection certificate issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India*
*These will be processed once the student reports at the University/Institution.
